A note about having Polypropylene inside:

In a STUDY by DUKE UNIVERSITY,* masks made of 3 layers: COTTON/POLYPROPYLENE/COTTON were just below N-95 and surgical masks as the most effective face masks.

JENNY’S MASKS are made with 2 layers of tightly woven quilter’s cotton and YOU CAN CHOOSE to add 1-2 layers of POLYPROPYLENE (Smart Fab) sewn in between those layers.

• Polypropylene is both breathable and prevents water droplets from going through. I’ve tried the “Double thick Smart Fab” and “Regular Smart Fab”. The “Double thick” is pretty stiff and I didn’t like the way it felt/fit. I did however, want to offer more protection so starting Feb 2021 you can choose to have 2 layers of Polypropylene sewn in for a 4 layer mask. It will be slightly stiffer/warmer than my 3 layer masks, but if you want the most protection, choose “2 Layers of Polyprop IN” in the drop down menu for filtration.
.
•If you are someone who gets warm in a mask, you may want to opt out of the polypropylene lining. You can always nest additional filters, paper towels, or blue shop towels in the back of the mask-tucked in the corners (no cumbersome pocket to deal with). Double masking is also an option. Research is always evolving and so must mask making and wearing!
